Layla White's Art Portfolio

These series of sculptures are centered around how humanity perceives time in relation to aging. As we grow older, the speed that our brain is able to process information speeds up; our endless days of childhood turn into the fast-paced life of an adult. The drastic changes in emotion we feel as we grow older is conveyed within these pieces, comparing both the past and present of our lives. The use of wax within these pieces symbolizes the passing of time, as well as light in darkness. The incorporation of polymer clay is used to create more grounded items (those that do not change with age).
